Only one week to go!

With just one week to go, teams throughout the UK and Republic of Ireland are completing their Gold Leaf Challenges and entering the Competition for 2012.

So what are you waiting for? Complete your Second Investigations and be in it to win it!   

National Prize
This year £1,000 will be awarded to the winning school in England, Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland. The winning school in the Republic of Ireland will receive €1,150.

Grand Prize
The overall winning team will win the Grand Prize; £1,000 for their school along with the opportunity to present their rainforest story to an audience of influential decision makers which will include Amazon Adventurer Ed Stafford. Sky will also make a short film about the winning team and their Challenge experiences. Watch last year’s winners’ The Shawhead Carbon Busters

Completing a Challenge
Don’t forget! Each Team will be sent an Adopt a Jaguar or Sponsor an Acre Pack for their school when they upload their second investigation results by 15 June. They will also receive a United Nations Environmental Programme Certificate for each team member. Find out more by visiting our Prizes page

What makes a winning team?
A panel of judges will meet the week commencing 25th June to discuss all competition entries and prizes are awarded based on the following criteria:

•    Creativity of action ideas
•    Sustainability of changes
•    Evidence of parent and wider community involvement
•    Environmental improvement
•    Depth and quality of action reports

How can we enter?
When completing a Challenge, each team will automatically be entered into the Competition. Schools can enter more than one team as their Competition entry, however each team will be considered individually. Please remember to be eligible for the Competition, each team must submit a minimum of 5 blog posts.
