Silver Leaf and Gold Leaf

Inspire your pupils to take action to help protect the world’s rainforests with the Sky Rainforest Rescue Schools Challenge!

There are now two ways you can participate - Silver Leaf level and Gold Leaf level.

Silver Leaf: The ‘Silver Leaf’ level is an easy and flexible way to be part of the Challenge this year - perfect for schools who have limited time. Silver Leaf level takes 1-3 weeks and involves creating a team and taking action. Schools get a Welcome Pack, special certificates and a Challenge Prize Pack on completion!

Gold Leaf: The ‘Gold Leaf’ level is a longer programme taking 6-9 weeks with five different stages. Choose a topic: Food We Eat, Stuff We Buy or Energy We Use – complete the activities and be in for the chance to win the £1000 grand prize! There’s loads of fantastic goodies on offer too including Challenge Prize Packs, UNEP certificates and the chance to adopt a jaguar or sponsor an acre of rainforest.

Both levels can be run as a standalone activity or support your existing programmes of work. Any registered member of primary or secondary staff in the UK or Ireland can sign their school up for the Challenge, which is designed for students aged 8-14 years.

Get involved with our new, flexible Silver Leaf level!

Thousands of schools across the country are taking part in the Sky Rainforest Rescue Schools Challenge, and we’ve just made it a little bit easier to get involved by introducing a new, more flexible level.

Our new Silver Leaf level is every bit as enjoyable and engaging as the long-established Gold Leaf level, but more suitable for schools where time is limited.

For the Silver Leaf level, teams of students can instantly choose a minimum of five actions that will reduce their school’s impact on the environment.

It usually takes 1-3 weeks to complete, and teams can look forward to a variety of goodies and prizes when they’re finished.
